Bet365 boss tops the tax list again!!

Denise Coates, the head of gaming business Bet365, has been named Britain’s biggest taxpayer for the third year running. Ms Coates and her family paid an estimated £481.7m in 2021, putting her at the top of the Sunday Times Tax List. A surge in the number of £100m-plus taxpayers has resulted in a £510m rise in the overall tax liabilities of Britain’s 50 biggest contributors, with this up to £3.69bn this year from £3.18bn last year. Experts have voiced concern that just two of the top ten of the Sunday Times Rich List last year appeared in the Tax List, with George Dibb, head of the IPPR think-tank’s Centre for Economic Justice, saying this “suggests something is seriously wrong with our tax system”.
